Llanigon Community Council, part of the Gwernyfed Ward, includes Llanigon, Fforddlas, Hay Rural and Capel-y-ffin. It is close to the Welsh/English Border and extends from the summit of the Black Mountains to the banks of the River Wye and in part situated within the Brecon Beacons National Park.

There are very few local amenities in the Parish- a Village Hall, a Garage and St Eigon’s Church in Llanigon and St Mary’s Chuch and a Chapel in Capel-y-ffin.

Local Groups which meet in the Llanigon Hall include Llanigon Young Farmers Club, Luncheon Club, Friendship Club & Bowls Club Llanigon YFC Annual Show is held on 2nd Saturday every August

Council Meetings are held on the 2nd Monday of the month at 7pm
